As of 2013, New York State has adopted a new curriculum of learning known as the Common Core. The Common Core is a rigorous curriculum that not only tests student knowledge but also the ability to apply multiple concepts at once in real-life settings. In 2013, 70% of New York City students failed the annual common core exam.
Because of these results, we have adopted the Common Core curriculum into our classrooms. We provide extensive preparation to students from K to 8. Prior to enrollment, students are given diagnostic exams to help pinpoint their weaknesses and strengths. Based on the results, our highly trained tutors develop and execute lesson plans to ensure the students overcome their weaknesses.
Students are grouped into their grade levels and are instructed by highly trained tutors. The student-teacher ratio is 10 to 1. The students are given homework pertaining to what is being taught in class and review problems for topics they discussed at the tutoring center. We also provide homework assistance and ensure our students are one lesson ahead of their school classroom.
